The
operations of our honey processing plant are completely
automated. As the processing of honey is a sticky operation,
which requires time and patience to achieve the best results, it
should be processed as soon as it is removed from the hive.
Careful protection against contamination by ants and other
insects is needed at all stages of processing.
The moisture content in honey plays an important role in
deciding the quality of honey. Honey with more than 20% moisture
are thinner in consistency and is liable to spoilage due to
fermentation & granulation. The collection, storage &
handling of honey should be carried out in a proper manner under
uncontrolled conditions including climatic factors. Proper
cleaning of the equipment installed in the plant should be done,
as honey is the consumable product. Furthermore, honey is
hygroscopic and can absorb moisture, therefore all honey
processing equipment must be perfectly dry. Too much water in
honey causes it to ferment.
